Homecoming has been a tradition at Penn State since our first Homecoming game was played on October 9, 1920, against Dartmouth. More than ninety years later, we continue to celebrate our traditions, honor our purpose and carry our pride by participating in many events each year. Penn State Homecoming remains steadfast in creating and upholding pride and tradition amongst those who bleed blue and white.
Hope everyone had a great time at this year’s homecoming weekend! I know the actives had a great time getting to spend time with the alumni and share stories over some good food and drink. Friday night at the parade, our western-themed float stood out from the crowd and was ranked in the top 10 by the judges. The party then moved back to the house, where actives and alumni warmed up and caught up over drinks before they hit the town for the night.
Saturday morning was an early wake up call so we could get to the tailgate fields and get ready for the big game. Luckily, Penn State did great and routed the Boilermakers 35-7! After the game we met back at the house for our yearly house corp. meeting where the alumni and actives gave updates on the house, the capital campaign, and much more. The capital campaign is moving along and will begin phase one soon, so we’d like to thank all of you that have donated. The night capped off with food, drinks, and games to cap off a wonderful weekend. A big thanks to MacGyver for another great pig, and a big congrats for winning Brother of the Year!
We are looking forward to the upcoming year and future events!

The Avillion Award is given in remembrance of Brother Ron Avillion Sr. Sig Tri 1965 (pictured to the right) and his son, Brother Ron Avillion Jr. Sig Tri 1995. Both Brothers tragically passed away after courageous battles with cancers. Prior to entering Omega, these Brothers gave generously of time, talent and effort to our Brotherhood over the years. The award is to acknowledge the great work and continued commitment of the recipient as well as a way to honor and remember the two Brother Avillions and their contributions to the Brotherhood.
