10/12/13 - Brother Bill Von Leer Awarded the Avillion Award

At this year’s Homecoming, Brother Bill Von Leer was honored as the Avillion Award recipient for his decades of service and dedication to our charge and Brotherhood. Since his initiation, Brother Von Leer has remained a very active member of the Brotherhood. As an alumnus, Brother Von Leer has been a member of the House Corporation, served as charge advisor and continues to be a key representative of our charge to the Borough, University and undergraduates.

The Avillion Award is given in remembrance of Brother Ron Avillion Sr. Sig Tri 1965 and his son, Brother Ron Avillion Jr. Sig Tri 1995. Both brothers tragically passed away after courageous battles with cancers. Prior to entering Omega, these brothers gave generously of time, talent and effort to our Brotherhood over the years. The award is to acknowledge the great work and continued commitment of the recipient as well as a way to honor and remember the two Brother Avillions and their contributions to the Brotherhood.
