9/27/14 Brother Justin S.. Baker Awarded the Avillion Award

Brother Justin S.. Baker, Sigma Triton ’93, was honored as the Avillion Award recipient for his service and dedication to our brotherhood. Brother Baker is known for his tireless efforts in arranging and coordinating the annual Summer Extravaganza (AKA Poker Weekend) each summer at the House. Over the past decade, this event has grown to become one of the most widely attended alumni events (next to Homecoming). We are all very appreciative of Brother Baker’s leadership and support of this event. Brother Baker now joins a group of esteemed Avillion Award recipients that includes Brothers Dick Divany’57, Ray Hallett’55, Jim Fath’66 and Bill Von Leer’73.

The Avillion Award is given in remembrance of Brother Ron Avillion Sr.’65 and his son, Brother Ron Avillion Jr.’90. Both brothers tragically passed away after courageous battles with cancers. Prior to entering Omega, these brothers gave generously of time, talent and effort to our Brotherhood over the years. The award is to acknowledge the great work and continued commitment of the recipient as well as a way to honor and remember the two Brother Avillions and their contributions to the Brotherhood. Bonnie Avillion, the wife of Ron Sr. and mother of Ron Jr., and her family were in attendance at the presentation ceremony.

Note: Pictured is Brother Baker accepting the Avillion Award with Ron Avillion Jr.’s son.
